Scoring Submissions

Once the run is active, teams start submitting answers. You see them immediately and award points. In the run dashboard open the Submissions card — it shows how many new submissions are waiting for you.

Reading the list

Submissions are grouped by challenge; the number in brackets is how many answers exist for that challenge. The three switches at the top filter the view:

FilterShows
Allevery submission
Scoredanswers you already graded
Unscoredwhat is still waiting — your work queue

Each challenge shows the reference answer the creator stored. It is visible to you only, never to the teams.

Awarding points

  1. Enter the score in the Points field of the answer (0 up to the challenge maximum).
  2. Optionally write a comment — the team sees it together with the score.
  3. Click Score.

The answer moves to the "Scored" filter and the team's score updates instantly — on the participants' devices too.

Re-opening a score

If you made a mistake or the answer was incomplete, click Re-open grading on the scored answer:

  • The points are withdrawn; the answer counts as unscored again.
  • The team can replace its answer and submit again.
  • You then score it as usual.

Replacing works only before scoring

Teams can swap an answer on their own as long as it is unscored. Once it is scored, that only becomes possible after you re-open the grading. This keeps exactly one valid answer per challenge.

Automatically scored challenges

Quiz challenges with a stored correct answer are scored automatically and appear under "Scored" right away. You can always correct the score via Re-open grading.

Practical tips for the day

  • Score promptly. Teams watch their score live; an answer left unscored for long feels like a bug in the app.
  • Keep comments short but concrete. One sentence of reasoning prevents questions on site.
  • When in doubt, be generous and discuss the case after the run — the event should not stall at the scoring table.
